A Description of Audra by Her Husband (unedited)
Hello,
I’m Audra’s husband. I hope you read all of this because Audra really is a special person and anyone who’s lucky enough to get to know her thinks it. None of what you’re about to read is an exaggeration. I want you to know that I don’t want to overpromise and underdeliver, but I don't want to sell her short either. So, I know that anything you read will be accurately delivered.
Audra is probably the happiest person I have ever met. I’m pretty sure that I’m the only one she gets mad at. There’s nothing fake about it and the smiles don’t come from a place of insecurity. She’s just happy all of the time. Again, not an exaggeration, EVERY time she gets off the phone or home from a meeting with a prospective new client she says “They’re so sweet” or “I think we’re going to be best friends.” There has never been a “They’re ok.” There has been “I got a weird vibe and I don't feel good about this”, but there’s nothing that makes me think she wasn’t spot on, because she almost never says it.
Many clients have told her that she needs her own TV series. I think it’s because she just radiates positive energy while doing what she does, and she loves it. She’s happy because she knows what the end result is. I think it’s kind of like getting a little enjoyment watching a movie that you know the ending and seeing someone squirm a bit while watching for the first time, but you smile to yourself because you know that that cringing is going to make the happy ending that much better.
The reason she left the corporate world was because of the tears. She always excelled and would take over failing endeavors and turn them into winners. She thought she was happy. And she was because she is who she is. But an earnest corporate thank you and a handshake has its limits. The first time she revealed a client’s closet to her and the client started crying was the day I think her corporate career ended. Audra’s goal is to turn a space that has only caused anxiety and stress into something that makes them feel excited and happy while having fun doing so.
She has a degree in economics and was successful career in her corporate life. She was always quick to volunteer for extra duties. Not because she was trying to get on the boss’s good side (because after their paths parted ways for whatever reason, they would tell her that she was their favorite), she thinks extra responsibility will be fun. Last year she found out about our children’s new school’s main fundraising event already in progress and went to a meeting to see if she could help and after the meeting, 5 or 6 people came up to her and told her that she should be running the committee. She’s running it this year. She volunteered to be in charge of coordinating all of her former team’s bonding excursions. When her team needed someone to present, she always volunteered. She would tell me the things her bosses would say to her and it was always the things I would say to my favorite employees. My point is, not only is Audra a pleasure to be around, she doesn’t shy away from work, she reaches for it.
Audra’s creative vision is innate, but also is a byproduct of her work ethic. I know it’s innate, because I don’t have it, I’ve seen all of the products, and if I stare at a space it just doesn’t compute. But Audra has it and is still always researching. Which products just came out? What are some of the organizers that I respect doing at their clients’ homes? “I like that, but there’s something that’s basically the same and cheaper at some other store.”
Audra wants to do the best job she can for EVERY client. She doesn’t take lunch or breaks while she’s at a client’s home. She grabs a bar or a handful of something and keeps going. It’s indicative of her attitude towards the work she does. She’s not slowly performing her tasks. She doesn’t say “good enough”. I’ve helped her on jobs and she busts her butt the entire time she’s there and her only complaint is that she wishes she could have done more. Given all of this, she has curated a team of people that share similar qualities. She’s hired a number of people and the ones that are left are hard-working, kind, trustworthy, and skilled because she has told me many times that she WILL NOT compromise the quality of the brand she’s continuing to build.
So, if you’re interested enough in getting a space or your home organized and you’ve read to this point, you WILL NOT be sorry you hired Audra. Thank you.
